Egypt vs Algeria.. vs Falloujah November 13, 2009

Yes, I’d love it if the Egyptian team qualified for the Soccer World Cup League, despite the extremely low probability of this happening.

Egypt VS Algeria - Nov. 14th

Egypt and Algeria are playing a very critical game tomorrow, where in order for Egypt to qualify to the World Cup, they have to win by a 3 goals margin – or something like that.  And yes, being an Egyptian myself, it’ll be really cool if Egypt -by some miracle- made that happen.

HOWEVER, if Algeria made it, it’ll also be cool.  I’ll support the Algerian team all the way, and hope they perform well in the world cup league games!!   I’m not being idealistic. I just strongly believe that the strong bonds that connect all the countries in the Muslim, Arab World are too precious to be overlooked and neglected in a situation like this. Think about it, for the rest of the world out there, whether Egypt or Algeria played, it’s all the same. They’re Arabs.  Wouldn’t you wish for the best, most qualified team to be there representing the word Arab, or Muslim?  Wouldn’t you wish that team played so well that their performance stunned the rest of the world?  Yeah, I know, probably neither teams will make that happen, but still, it’s the thought that counts; the thought of how united and strongly-bonded we should and must be at all times — even if it’s just a soccer game, it shows you where we’re standing!

The Battle of Egypt vs Algeria!

What’s up with both countries dealing with it as if it’s a battle waiting to take place tomorrow?  And besides, why don’t we see this much enthusiasm and rivalry when it comes to winning what really matters?  I wish this energy wasted on soccer competition was reserved for something more important, and I wish the media cared to cover with the same level of attention the news that really should matter us!

Falloujah Babies.

I wish the media paid more attention to the reports released couple of months ago showing how newborn babies in Falloujah showed illnesses and deformities in their bodies that doctors say they’ve never ever seen before!!  The percentage of those ill babies are increasing, and the number of deaths have been rising since the year 2004.

FALLUJAH, Jun 12 (IPS) – Babies born in Fallujah are showing illnesses and deformities on a scale never seen before, doctors and residents say.

The new cases, and the number of deaths among children, have risen after “special weaponry” was used in the two massive bombing campaigns in Fallujah in 2004.

After denying it at first, the Pentagon admitted in November 2005 that white phosphorous, a restricted incendiary weapon, was used a year earlier in Fallujah.

In addition, depleted uranium (DU) munitions, which contain low-level radioactive waste, were used heavily in Fallujah. The Pentagon admits to having used 1,200 tonnes of DU in Iraq thus far.

Seriously, wake up people. Let us pay attention to what really matters.

Goldstone Condemns Israel October 16, 2009

Posted by Khawarizmiya in Palestine, Terror, Western Culture.

The UN human rights council has endorsed the Goldstone report on Israel’s war on Gaza, which accused the military of using disproportionate force as well as laying charges of war crimes on Israeli occupation forces and Hamas.

The council’s resolution adopting the report was passed in Geneva by 25 votes to six with 11 countries abstaining.

Israel condemned

In addition to endorsing the report, the resolution “strongly condemns all policies and measures taken by Israel, the occupying power, including those limiting access of Palestinians to their properties and holy sites”

It also calls on Israel to stop digging and excavation work around the Al-Aqsa mosque as well as other Islamic and Christian religious sites.

Israel rejected the charges saying the resolution – drafted by the Palestinians with Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan and Tunisia, on behalf of non-aligned, African, Islamic and Arab nations – threatened peace efforts.

In the memory of the sad events that took place on September 11, 2001, we cannot help but:

1) Send our sincere condolences to all the people who lost their beloved ones in the attacks…

Richard Sadowi, father in law of P.O. Paul Talty who died on 9-11 and Talty's daughter Kelly.

2) Wonder whether we were told the truth about what really happened on Sept. 11, and who the people responsible for the attacks were…

Watch Charlie Sheen’s Video Message to President Obama

“Charlie Sheen addresses the President about 9/11 in a special video message, shortly after releasing his “20 Minutes with the President,” specifically addressing 20 key points that need to be answered by a truly independent investigation.” —  Twenty Minutes With The President

3) Wonder whether the US government’s extraordinary reactions to the Sept. 11 attacks were justifiable..

3.1. Invasion of Iraq (2003)

“Immediately after the September 11 attacks US officials speculated on possible involvement by Saddam Hussein; although unfounded, the association contributed to public acceptance for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.”   — Reactions to Sept. 11

“Former Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill said Mr Bush was looking for an excuse to oust Saddam Hussein. As a member of the president’s National Security team he said he never saw any evidence of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.” — BBC NEWS: Bush ‘plotted Iraq war from start’

3.2. Afghanistan and Guantanamo

“On 11 January 2002, exactly four months after the terrible events of 9/11, the first of 774 prisoners arrived at a specially constructed prison on a US naval base in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. Until recently, it was impossible to tell the stories of these men. Held without charge, without trial, without access to their families, and, initially, without access to lawyers, they are part of a peculiarly lawless experiment conducted by the US administration, which has chosen to disregard both the Geneva Conventions and the established rules of war, holding the men not as criminals or as Prisoners of War, but as “illegal enemy combatants,” a category of prisoner which is itself illegal.”   —   The Guantanamo Files, for Andy Worthington

In the memory of Sept. 11 we cannot help but wonder: were the events that took place in 9-11 a part of another, bigger agenda that we are unaware of?

In the memory of Sept. 11, I send my condolences to the world.

Truth About Hamas Rockets. January 13, 2009

I was wrong.
The truth about those Hamas rockets article reminded me that I was wrong.

“The [Palestinian] Kassam [rockets] have terrorized the 25,000 people in Sderot and its environs, but have caused very, very few deaths or serious wounds. By contrast, Israel has terrorized 1.5 million Gazans, locked them inside their awfully narrow borders, throttled their economy, and killed and seriously wounded thousands of them”

There is a lot to be said about Gazza. And not just about people being murdered in massacres, & the stories of babies being found next to their dead moms, starving to death, the thousands of people leaving their unsafe homes, etc.

Hamas rockets.. the justification of this war, massacre to be more accurate, and hence Hamas’s responsibility of all the disasters taking place. Hamas rockets? Have those rockets caused the death of more than 900 civilians in a matter of 10 days? Or even close to that number over the past 50 years? No even close.

Are they being punished for their desperate attempts to fight against the occupation of their land, the murder and torture of their people? Come to think about it, had the name of Ismael Haneyya be William Wallace for instance, the World would’ve made a national hero out of him, and his people. His people.. err.. Sorry, not even their people are standing beside them. Arab governments are in fact taking part and playing a fascinating role in the happening of those massacres.. Pathetic.

Assalam Alaykom,

Two days ago we were having a discussion with my operating system teacher, Dr Karaata :-) about the movie “300”… well originally it was about “Process synchronization in operating systems” but I kind of thought its the same topic at the end :-)
The synchronization between launching such a movie and the events taking place right now between Iran and the west..err.. Should we not go so far? Is it
just a movie? Would we be exaggerating if we thought the Greek blond dudes represent the west and the ugly looking Persians are today’s easterns?

Come on, its just a movie!.. Isnt it?
Well what I’m pretty positive about is that in this movie anything persian was basically ugly, monster like, disgusting and weird. Anything or anyone greek was obviously gorgous, handsome, beautiful, brave and smart. Well that was kind of biased, dont you think. Could people really be deceived by such naive approaches to play with their minds? Ok Im not saying they would believe that persians have knife-looking hands but isnt it expected that if few months from now some attack is started against Iran they’d be like..
ok whatever they’re pretty ugly anyway.
Our 300!
I sincerely hope not. Honestly, what I hope for is that by that time we’d have our own decent Film industry. We dont need to look for some myth about brave 300 soldiers. In our history its not a myth..its a
Who does not know the battle of
Bader where 300 brave Muslim men faught against approximately 1000 Arabs from Quraish, and won the battle, in Ramadan, when they were actually fasting. Read more about it here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Badr

Who does not know the battle of Mo’ta , where 3000 Muslims faced an army of 200,000 Romans and Arabs. Read more about it here.

Assalam Alaykom,

I don’t think its hypocritical to watch their shows. For those who want to take an ocasional break from the real world and watch TV. there are not any decent alternatives to US programming. Especially not on the Arab side. Let’s not go there!

However the fact is we are all affected by what we see and hear.

What is advertising?

Ask yourself this question. Would you like to learn Hebrew? If you did learn Hebrew would you enjoy watching the Hebrew version of “Friends” and “Seinfeld”. The American actors/actresses on those 2 shows are Jewish anyways but imagine you watch the Hebrew version of them.

If you answered no then ask yourself why do you not get that same “disgusting” feeling when it comes to speaking / hearing English or to watching American shows? are not the Americans the ones responsible for the mass killings, torture, rape and exploitation of the Muslim lands?

The zionist state is just a tool in their hands and not as widely believed the other way around. Pure deception at its best!

Many of us fall into this trap when we watch their “cultural shows” that are disguised in sheep’s clothing.

Assalam Alaykom,

This is one of the situations where I find myself saying..”Huh?”.

Already 500K Iraqi Children Dead

Im sitting there watching Ajazeerah news. The typical deadly headlines;

hundreds of Iraqies killed by American missiles somewhere in Iraq, a Palestinian family buried under the remainings of their house after being destroyed by some Israeli weapon (Made in USA), a woman in Afghanistan raped by american soldiers, a new Scandal involving pictures of Iraqi children tortured and harassed by British & American soldiers in Iraq, U.S officials talking about how necessary it is to send more troops to Iraq or Afghanistan…

“Oh! its 5.30 already!”, I switched the channel to MBC4 after watching the News, to watch “ER”. Yes..ER, an American show. This is exactly when I said to myself, “Huh?”.

Isnt it typical to sense some contradiction around here? I mean after listening for 30 minutes to the damage, murder, torture, destruction & fear that the United States has caused in the Muslim and Arab World, directly or indirectly, will I still switch the channel to watch ER?

Can feelings of hatred to those killing my brothers and sisters be in
the same place with feelings of admiration to their culture, their
media, their television shows? But hold on, do I really hate them in the first place? I’ve always thought its pretty naive to ask that Question, Do you hate usa or do you love it? usa is not “Bamyaa”. The best answer I can think of, is that I have every right to hate the government that is responsible for giving Israel destructive weapons to kill my Palestanian brothers and sisters, & who is responsible for the murder, torture, lack of security around Iraq, not to mention abusing the natural resources and Oil, etc. Is it just the governments? I think not. I will also consider an enemy whoever supports this unfairness and injustice to my people around the world. There are thousands of Americans who dont, however. I send them all my respect and support, and thank them for being rightous.

So does that mean I should or should not continue watching their television shows, their movies, embrace parts of their culture, use their language as im doing this moment for instance?

I think its a matter of being Intelligent and smart enough to distinguish what is useful for you from what is harmful and mind degrading. Take MBC4 for example, if a good series like ER is shown for 50 minutes, what about the rest of the day? I can bet that 80% of the rest are shallow & superficial disgusting programs that present only the bad side of the western culture; the superficiality, women, adultery, etc. (I know you’re saying this is only one channel, but in my satellite there are tons of others, just presenting the same ideas).

So lets be smart, and learn from them what is useful for our own evolution, as they were decades ago when they translated the Arabic and Muslim scientific researches and books to their language, and created a basis for the current scientific revolution. What were we doing all this time? Im not sure, I guess watching “Leave it to Beaver”.
